Dean Martin plays a small-time New York gambler who owes money to the wrong people. To pay off his debt, he’s offered a chance to pull off a scam involving a racehorse. He drags his simple-minded cousin Virgil played by Jerry Lewis into the scheme, and Virgil unexpectedly finds himself at the center of the whole scam. This is a classic Martin and Lewis comedy: Martin is the self-assured con artist and heartthrob, while Lewis is the bumbling, naive character who constantly creates new problems.
